As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

For me, it's our trip to Iceland in February, our Baltic cruise in June and then finally getting to visit Eastern Canada (I've had it on my list for close to 20 years... ) and seeing lots of good friends in Disney World. Do you see a theme of travel here?
Two things come to mind, both travel related. In chronological order....
1. I'm looking forward to taking a trip to China this summer as part of a cultural enrichment experience for educators!
2. I'm looking forward to reconnecting with my BFF from my childhood/teen years on a girls trip to WDW in August. We have only seen each other once in person in 28 years! We're both very excited and can't wait for this trip.
I'm looking forward to my DS's graduation from high school. I have my fingers crossed that he's able to complete all the requirements to do so. Then, he's off to college in the fall. I'm also looking forward to the end of all this political campaigning when the presidential election comes in November.
I'm looking forward to running the WDW half and full marathons next weekend and then leaving the next day to relax on the Dream for 4 nights. Our oldest daughter's graduation from HS and then celebrating that and our 20th wedding anniversary at Aulani in July, which I was just able to book last week through DVC. I guess mine are travel related too.

We have a return trip planned for the F&GF at WDW in May, and then we are taking our nephew for fall break in October. We have several family gatherings this year, the largest being in June. Luke and I will celebrate 35 years of marriage, which seems like such a long time. We'll also have my Edge paid off no later than mid year.
Well I'd like for my Dad who's still in the hospital since October 16th from a heart attack and stroke to recover, but it's not looking like that's going to happen. I don't think it's going to be much longer and I hope my mom is going to be ok. . Other than that I'm looking forward to our trip to WDW in September cause I sure need one.
I would love to say I'm looking forward to a fall trip to WDW as my son's first trip but financial issues have arisen & we are now looking at 2017. Oh well. It will happen - the only question is when. I am looking forward to seeing my little toddler get even bigger & hopefully a little more independent. Right now we are in the potty training process so finishing with dippers is high on my list! Also making headway with reorganizing & decluttering the house is on the list!
I'm looking forward to our trip to WDW, hearing back for Peter's UCAS (University) applications and finding out where he will be going to university. Rory moving to boarding school in Scotland (not the leaving home part but him starting at the excellent school that has done so well for Peter). And our last full year in Brisbane. Much as i like it I'm more than ready to live in Scotland again. And Peter coming to Brisbane for the summer.
We're looking forward to the arrival of DD Jaclyn's twins....due early Feb. and my trip to WDW in September.....and this year is our 45th anniversary in Nov.
Ummmm...being frugal for a couple months until we get paid off all those "Life is short. Let's get this!" buys at WDW that Tinker Bell (aka our Disney Visa with Tink on it) impulsively bought.
I've decided after losing and keeping off 15 pounds last year that I'm working at being able to wear again the gorgeous purple silk dress I wore for our wedding. Only about ten more pounds to get there. After my success thus far, I really do believe I can do it!
ETA: Sheesh! I gotta go do something not requiring words. (Like maybe finishing unpacking and stashing all the fun stuff we bought at WDW? We've only been home for a week as of Sunday!)
I'm barely coherent. Too much blood in my caffeine stream without a doubt!
