As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). Hi, I have been there 4 years in a row. They dont have a gac card but you really dont need it. Just get to the shows 15-20 minutes before they start and the sea life is easy to see. If you want to feed the dolphins that was a line though.

I know we have a local amusement park where the discount is on the person with the disability, I've never heard of it on the other people though so that's interesting. But do you know how this works if the child is considered an adult? And is it half off both a child and the companion or just the child? Thanks again for any more help you can give.

I actually used my GAC from Disney at SeaWorld last week to get into the park. If you'd have seen the lines just to get to the ticket booths, you'd understand why! I think we'd easily have waited 30 minutes just to get into the park and I physically couldn't do that. :
I showed the guy my GAC and he went to talk to a manager and let us straight in. He did say, at first, that we needed to go to Guest Relations to get one, until I explained what we needed, so I was assuming that SeaWorld do something similar? As we only do shows at SeaWorld and not the rides and you can arrive early and sit for those, I didn't bother enquiring further, as it's standing for long periods of time that I can't do any longer.

Honestly, I wouldn't base your decisions around my experience. It was the day of the world premiere of the new Shamu show and we were told that management implemented a new way of queueing for that weekend, which happened to be Easter weekend! I'm sure they will have gone back to something that worked much better.

Hi, You might just want to call seaworld and ask any age restrictions on their disability discount. You would have to go inside to guest services to buy these tickets. It would be a real money saver if you could use it.

Hi Darlene Its been afew years since I have been to Seaworld but I found this snippet on Journey into Atlantis. The ride is absolutely amazing and sitting in the front row got my lap and brand new sneakers completely soaked. I would imagine that there is video of this ride out there on utube. But I wanted to warn you that its not that mild of a ride. I can't recall if Abby likes SPlash Mountain .. but its Splash Mountain with a twist.

Okay, thank you so much for the heads up. Abby is just starting to like Splash Mountain. It's still not a favorite but because it is relatively mild, I can usually get her to go on it by asking she does it at least once for me while at Disney. And we have to sit in the back too - she doesn't want the front where she might get really wet.
