As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). I'm not sure whether to post this here or in the Globetrotting forum, but I figure this will reach more football fans.
As you can tell from my sig pic, I'm an OSU Buckeye fan. I really want to take DD to a "real college football" experience, and Camp Randall is one of those places I've always wanted to see a game. So I'm looking at driving to Madison this fall for the OSU-UW game.
Here's my Q -- is it even possible to get Badgers football tix in a secondary market? Without paying an arm and a leg?
The OSU alumni assn only lets me buy two tickets and I need 3, so I have to look elsewhere for tix. If tickets are darn near impossible to find, or ridiculously expensive, I'll plan something else for the long weekend from school. I'd just like to know before I invest too much time, energy and anticipation in planning this trip to Madison.
Don't have faith that Gophers new stadium will provide a "real college football" experience?
I have no idea, as well, where to look for Badger ticket outside of the UW ticket office. The UW website says that single-game Big Ten tickets go on sale on August 9.
I would say take her to the UM-OSU game if it was in Ann Arbor. The way UM program has been going, tickets should be easily available and cheap.

Last year, you couldn't touch a ticket for the new stadium.
We've been to a couple of MN-OSU games at the Metrodome. I think you understand my issue. DH says MN gets way too excited over a mere first down, and DD thinks the Buckeyes always win easy.

Seriously, though -- The Big House is on my college football wish list, but it's a bit too far to make it back for school on Monday. (The long weekend is Thurs-Fri). Madison is much more do-able. Iowa is another possibility but the Buckeyes don't play there over MEA break.

I've been to Michigan-Minnesota game at the Metrodome and hated. I had to leave early because Minnesota's band played constantly the noise just bounced around the dome. It reached the point where that was all I heard.

Tell her not to get hopes up. I wished for years for John Cooper to get a contract extension and was never rewarded.
Don't worry, UM will still be down for a few years after Rich Rodriguez is fired. The NCAA will make sure of that. I wish UM had never hired him. He only looks out for himself and his current job is just a stepping stone for next job. He's a used car salesman.

I would say that Camp Randall sells out just as easily as the Shoe so it's more in the theorical than the actual but it's an option.
At Michigan, it's not even an option. There is no way to get single-game tickets from the university unless that single-game is a directional Michigan or a I-AA school. If you wanted single-game tickets to a game like Wisconsin, they would make you buy tix to the game against the aforementioned directional Michigan.
I grew up in Madison and either my parents would get tickets from season ticket holders or I had student friends who would get them for me. I do know that the OSU game will be a harder one to get tickets for. It usually a big game, if you go to one game a season as a Badger fan this is the one. I can say that it is a very cool experience to go to a game in CR and the whole campus and non-campus area around the stadium is into it. Lots of food, red and white everywhere, tons of energy and excitement. I hope you and DD can go.
I used to live in Madison. My XH is a UW alum. As I recall it was fairly easy to get tix in a secondary market. I don't know how much those tix went for. It has been over ten years since I lived there, so I am not sure if things have changed.
