As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I am so mad!!!! In fact I am so mad that I may cancel my Disney Visa card! I have seen on tv that credit card companies are going after good card holders but thought that was crazy till now!
I am a charter member and love the card because of the disney rewards. Well, that is till today. Somehow, i missed a statement. I didn't get a day's worth of mail but didn't realize it until statements from other bills came saying that I was late. As soon as I realized this I called all those affected and explained what happened and said that I had sent in the payments. I called Chase and told them and the person said that was fine and they would take care of the charge and send me a copy of the statement that I missed and put an alert on my account in case someone tries to do something with the account. I thought all was good. I received a past due letter and someone called this morning at 7am to tell me it was past due. I reexplained the situation and the person double checked to make sure the account was cleared and all was good.
Then I was needing to pay a hospital bill and found it the account was locked! Noone in the past three days had told me that or asked me to pay by phone to take the lock off and here I was having to pay a hospital bill and couldn't. I called and they gave me the run around and said that it was all my fault and the lock was standard practice. Well, not having been late ever I have no idea but my other credit card has never done that and my ex who has multiple cards including a Chase one is late on average up to 3 months and they never lock his card!
It took me 4 supervisors and 2 hours of yelling, crying and saying I was going to let Disney know how I was being treated and let everyone I know who has a card to be aware of what happens to good people before they removed the lock but I had to pay double the cost because I had already sent in the payment! They said to make sure that everyone knew I was past due and I said that I have never denied that but didn't know it as I hadn't received the statement and the day that I found out about it I called and did my due diligence to fix it and they refused to tell me about the lock on the days that I could actually fix it as the banks were open and it wasn't a weekend!
I am seriously considering cancelling my card! They were rude, disrespectful and didn't care about me because I pay my bills on time and most of the time in full and they can't make money off of me! I haven't been late in at least 4 years and have excellent credit!
Anyway, please be aware that if you are late more than 5 days your account will get locked and they won't tell you.

I rarely cuss unless i am sick or exhausted but for some reason I cuss a lot when around Chase. I cannot make payments more than once evry 3 days unless I go to the local branch. The teller actually tried to take money out of my credit card instead of putting money in and the amount was over the withdrawl limit to boot.
I would say Chase is a pain in the anatomy.
i send you big hugs and keep the card but pay off the debt so you can get them free strollers and discounts.

Disneyland was fun with flag retreat and pickles. I have a home here, thank you. GAC is NOT a "front of the line pass".
She is gone but keeping signature. Laundry is getting done. My purpose in life is to help poor people in FL. Farewell, will miss you.

I am surpised that you are having problems. I use my Chase card (in my mind) as a debit card. I charge things, and then pay the charge immediately. I make my payments on line, and have no limits on how many times I pay (I pay about 15 times a month and have never had any problems). And I have almost $900 towards my August vacation. Maybe the difference is that you make your payments at your bank?
I am keeping mine sort of paid off and at the beginning of this month it was paid off but will be back up to $800 again. I asked them and they said one on line payment per 3 days unless I use another type of payments like another card then every day.
In person I can pay all I want but not online. That means either taking a bus or driving a mile to their bank which not a problem unless I need access to my credit.
Chase is not as lovely a company as they say they are.
I send original poster lots of tylenol, dole whips and hugs. Good luck with Chase.

Just thought I'd mention that they often "lock" a credit card when there's a report that the statement or the card has gone missing.
Since you reported a missing statement, they may have been concerned for the safety and security of your card and the lock occured (and probably happened automatically.)

I have a friend that works at Chase and she thought the whole thing was strange as well. So she is going to check on things for me Monday. So hopefully we can find a logical explanation for everything.

We had problems with Chase too. They had been shady a couple of times with holding payments until they were a day late then posting them to the account with a late fee. I called each time this happened and, not taking no for an answer, had the charges removed. I got fed up with their practices, closed the account and they immediately raised our APR to 24%. When I called them (again) they pretty much told me "too bad, we can do whatever we want with your APR." I was sick of dealing with them, and moved the remaining balance to another card. I wouldn't deal with Chase again if you paid me.
