As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Ok, I had over 200 photos on my photopass account from last week's trip and had made enhancements etc. I just logged in and they are all gone except 2 that were on a separate card from the one I consolidated everything on before I left the parks!! What should I do now? I have been emailing back and forth with the imaging staff because my photos from the Disney Visa meet n greet were missing. Is it possible they are doing something on their end to find those photos that caused my other photos to disappear? Should I wait awhile and see if they come back? Email or leave a voicemail about this new problem? Try to reenter the card number and see what happens? I don't want to screw things up further but I'm panicking that all of those beautiful photos are gone!

We had a problem like that after one of our trips. We contacted Disney and they were able to retrieve the photos for us. I would contact them and let them know what happened. You will need the card # that you consolidated from or to and they can track your pictures down.
I hope so! I can't figure out what happened since they were all there when I logged in yesterday and now the entire card has disappeared! I tried reentering the card even though I know I'd have to redo all of the borders and stuff I did and got a message that the card already exists in my account. But none of the pictures are there. I would understand it more if it was a problem with consolidating them and they were never there to begin with, but just to have the entire card disappear after you've already entered it and seen that the photos are there makes no sense to me.
Ugh! I have made such a royal mess of things. I wish there was a way to actually talk to a human being about the photopass. I have figured out at least partly what happened. I preordered a CD so I collected all of our cards from our Grand Gathering group on the last day. I consolidated the cards at the camera center in Epcot before we left. I went there to get my 5x7 from the Disney Visa character meet, but they weren't on the card yet. When I got home and entered the consolidated card, those pictures never showed up. I filled out the missing pictures form on the website and gave them the original and consolidated card numbers. I got an email a couple of days later saying the pictures were on the card. I emailed that they weren't. I got another email yesterday that if I'm having trouble viewing pictures, I should do "X", so I emailed that I wasn't having trouble viewing pictures. It's just that some weren't there. Then when I went on this morning, ALL of the pictures but 2 are gone.
In trying to figure THAT out, I brainstormed that maybe since the Disney Visa pics weren't on the card when they were consolidated, they are on the original card. but when I tried to enter the original number, it said it belonged to another account. So then I talked to my sister-in-law who said she wrote down her two card numbers and set up an account with her card so she could see them. So NOW I understand why the Disney imaging people were emailing that I must be having a problem viewing the photos - because they were on the original card all along!
So now I have 2 problems - why did all of the photos on the consolidated card disappear from my account and how do I get them back? And how do I get those Disney meet photos off my sister in law's account and onto mine where we're ordering the CD? What a mess!! The Disney people are going to think I'm crazy when they read my several emails. I just hope we can get at least the consolidated photopass back because we had some fantastic photos on there!
When I went to get the 5x7 print from the Disney Visa thing, the cast member said, you have alot of cards (which was true because SIL had 2, my mom had 2, I had 2, plus 2 more from BBB. plus a wristband one from BB and at that point, I had all of then) - why don't we just consolidate them? It seemed like a good idea at the time. It didn't occur to me that SIL would enter her numbers when she got home since I had her cards on me. I am calmer and hopeful now.
It's a terrible feeling losing visual memories of your family vacation, and although I can't give you advice, here's some pixie dust sprinkled for you! Good luck!
An update, I got a call this morning from Deborah from the Imaging Guest Support team. She was really nice and fortunately, did not seem irritated by my repeated emails. On their end, they can see all of the photos in the account. They just aren't showing up on my end. She referred it to technical support since it must be something with the account and not just my computer since I could see them all before and it's not working no matter what computer its tried on. But since the photos show up on their end, hopefully they are not lost. Also, they were able to fix the issue with the card my SIL entered on another account!
Hang in there! If they can see all the photos all is not lost. Like I said before we went thru the same problem. Can the Imaging Guest Support team move the photos to another card # and let you see them that way? It is worth a try. If they cant then you might ask about getting the photos on cd although you wont be able to add the Disney Boarders that they have.
