The mom are we in Flordia yet and where is Mickey pre-trip report - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

The mom are we in Flordia yet and where is Mickey pre-trip report
This is my very first trip report so if I am doing this wrong I am sorry. Any tips would be appreciated!!
Traveling for the first time alone are:
Ashley(that's me) I am 22 and a stay at home mom which I love. - 20 or so trips to Disney, 1st solo family trip.
Joseph(my love who is not yet thrilled about being at Disney for a week. But, I am sure things will change. Always do.) He is 25 and works for his dad in construction but is about to take over the buisness. - 30th trip or more for him. Went alot as a kid.
Daniel(our precious little one. He loves all things Mickey.) Just turned 4. And started Pre- K this year. There is not much he does not love. I believe this makes trip 10 for him.
Okay a little background about us. We are from a kind of small town in Tennessee. We are located half way between Nashville and Knoxville. Joseph and I have been together for seven years married almost 5. Have the most beautiful son who takes up nearly all of our time. We always make it to Disney once a year because that is where I have to be. But, hubby loves the beach so we compromise a week at the beach a week at Disney I think it is worth it.
Well, I guess this is not really a pre-trip report since we are already at the beach. But, oh well how about a semi live trip report.
September 27- This day is pretty uneventful this was our driving day. We woke up at 5 am and got on the road. We stopped a few times for gas. We also stopped to eat at Sonny's sorry guys no pictures for this part of the trip. We also stopped at the Wildwood exit in Flordia at the Chrome shop. We had to get an Al Capone for the truck at home.We got to Clearwater Beach at around 6 and had dinner at the Bahama Breeze.
September 28- Our First full day at the Beach. We woke up at 8 and went to have breakfast at post corner which has went down hill since the last time. They can't seem to keep a cook. After that we decieded to head to Tampa for awhile. We went to the Tampa Aquarium which was really neat and got some great pictures. I will post them when I get back home. We were there for about 3 hours and Daniel was amazed by everything. But, his favorite was the otter. We stood for about 45 minutes watching these guys and they were in the mood to play. These guys just played and played and gave such a great show. Well, after this we decided to head back to the beach.
Daniel and myself decided to go to the beach for awhile. But, we were only there for about 30 minutes. This is what happened we were walking in the said and I saw a beautiful place to take his picture. So, I took it and he decided he wanted to climb on the sand dune. As, he was getting ready to climb he stepped on about 30 coco burs. And if you don't know what these are they are little round balls with sharp spikes all around them and if they break off in your foot it is a trip to the hospital to have them removed. Thankfully that did not happen. I got them out but since he was still crying we headed back to the house. That is all we got done today. We did go eat at Shepard's which was pretty good.

September 29th- THis is our rest day. We are just hanging out at the house. We did go to the country side mall in CLearwater. Also went to P.J.'s it is a classic car dealership and we also went to the RolysRoyce dealership. Which was fun. Today though we ate at my favorite place it is called Frenchy's Rockaway. They have the best Chicken Walnut salad it is the only thing I ever get here. I will post more later.
WDW - August 1997 Off Property
WDW - January 2005 AKL
WDW - May 2006 Pop Century
WDW- november-dec 2007 pop century
WDW- dec/jan 2009/2010 pop century
WDW- oct/nov 2012 art of animation
WDW- sept 2013 port Orleans riverside
WDW- july 2015 beach club
So, for dinner we ate at a place called Crabby Bills. It was horrible. It tasted like everything was frozen. I had the stuffed flounder which could have been great but had absoulutely no taste. Joseph had the frog legs which I tried for the first time nothing to write home about. But, I do have to say they don't taste like chicken. If something tastes like chicken just bring me chicken. Daniel had the fried fish and I have to say his was the best. There is one thing I do find interesting at this place they come around and take your photo and put it in a keychain which I thought was cute. We bought two of these. I will post the pic later. We got back to the beach and since it was really early still. I took Daniel to the beach where he could run off some of that energy and build some sand castles. We were at the beach for almost 5 hours and it was alot of fun. While there we did see a wedding which was really neat and my favorite part was watching the sunset. It looks like it just falls into the water which is very cool if you ask me. We headed back and guess what another surprise Daniel stepped on some more burrs. I tell you this child of mine can find anything that you don't want him to. So, I had to lug him back to the house so his Dad could get it out. After about 30 minutes of the whole world coming to an end. All was well again and then it was bath time to remove all sand and bed. Today was long and glad it is over.
September 30th- We got up around 7 and it was only about 72 here which was really nice since it has been 98 degrees back home. We tried a place called Perkins which we have never eaten before and it was really good I was really surprised. I got the ham and cheese omlett with toast. Joseph got the steak and cheese omlett with pancakes. But, I believe Daniel got the best. He had confetti pancakes which came with coolwhip and sprinkles on them also got a cookie which was very neat. Who would have thought you could eat a cookie at breakfast.
After breakfast we rode around and just looked at all the construction that was going on. They are remodeling and destroying nearly everything to build condos which does not make any since to me. We got back around 11 and I decided to take a nap and if I do say so myself it was the best nap ever. My husband was very sweet and didn't let our son bother me which he just loves to do. I slept for about an hour and we decided it was time for lunch. So, we headed off the island and went to a place called Rumbas. I think this is the best meal we had our whole stay on the beach. Joseph and myself got the Carribean Jerk Chicken sandwich and it was perfect. I really wish I had took a picture of this because the put the sauce in this spoon so you could poor it on yourself. I really enjoyed this because I am not big on spicy things.
Well, after lunch we headed back to the beach and to return the favor to his dad. I took Daniel to the Community Swimming Pool so he could take a nap. Daniel really enjoyed this I have some really cute pics of him here. I will post pics when we return to Tennessee. They have this really cute slide of a frog and you get to slide down his tongue. Daniel thought this was so cool. We were there for about 4 hours then it was time to head back to the house. We came back all intentions on going to the beach but it got really windy and decided to stay close to the house so we played in the front yard which was alot of fun.
For dinner was Shepard's again did I mention I absolutely loath this place. I would rather have a sandwich but Joseph and Daniel love it so I compromise with them especially since they have no idea we are eating with eeyore when we go to Disney which I just love him. Anyways, not to get off topic, after dinner we decided to play minuture gold. Which Joseph and myself have not played in five years. It really was alot of fun because this was Daniel's first time. It took about three minutes to show him how to do it and then we were off. It took us about an hour to go through the course and the winner was DANIEL!!! Can you believe it he beat me and his dad by 1 stroke. I really just enjoyed watching him play and the looks he got on his face. He even got 2 hole in ones. Well, it had gotten late on us so we decided to head back to the house to get everything we are going to need at Disney packed up because we leave tomorrow. I won't get to post for awhile but I can't wait to share all our adventures because I am sure we will have them.
We just got back from our trip and will start to post the Disney portion here in a day or so. Oh and it rained almost the whole trip so I didn't get pictures of all the counter services we ate sorry. But, all the sit downs I did.
Welcome back...the beach sounded nice except for those burrs....
I love Perkins except I only get to eat there when we travel....so everytime we go to visit my sisterin MA I beg my parents to take us to perkins (ok...I don't have to beg but I ask really nice and if that doesn't work I get the grandchildren to do it....Grandpa never says no to them....lol)
Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip....
