Final Thoughts...
Obviously, we all very much enjoyed the cruise! Even DS16, who was not even wanting to go!
While we all loved it, would I say it is better than WDW? NO. We will definitely cruise again, but it's just not something that I sit around thinking about all day, every day, like I do with WDW!
I kind of enjoyed the laid back approach to the planning. There's just not a lot to consider when waiting for your cruise vacation to get here. So, it was relaxing. But, maybe it was just nice for me because I plan people's vacations every day!
There are no ADR's to think about, so dining was easy! I did stress a little about the excursions, but then realized that it really didn't matter what we did, as it was all going to be new to us!
We definitely learned a lot! There are things I will do differently next time. Such as, not going to the show after dinner every night. One or two nights will be fine. Between the long dinners and then the shows, it took up a good chunk of our time. Honestly, I'm not even sure we will sit through three long dinners again.
We thought the food was just okay on the ship. Especially the sit down dinners. It sure didn't compare to some of our favorites at WDW! We did really like Cabana's and Flo's. And of course endless ice cream is the best!
I'm not sure if we will do an excursion at Nassau again. We really enjoyed our Discover Atlantis excursion, but kind of regretted not spending that day on the ship. Without a day at sea, there is very little time to enjoy all that the ship has to offer.
I would love to do a 4 night Bahamian Cruise, but with them being Mon-Fri, that will likely not happen with school. I'm not sure I would like to cruise for any longer than about 4-5 nights.
The weather was not the greatest, but it was okay. It definitely could have been worse! When we had time to walk the ship or sit outside, it was evening and it was super windy and chilly. A summer cruise would be nice, but I am just not willing to pay summer cruise pricing!
We took advantage of booking while on-board and saving 10% on our next cruise, as well as receiving a $100 on-board credit! We didn't know when to book, so we did the placeholder. That is a great option! You book while on-board without picking a date, and you have up to 2 years to pick a cruise date and still get the discount. After getting home and looking over every 3 night cruise that sails between now and spring 2017, we picked a date - for late January 2017! It just made the most sense with the school schedule. I'm sure the weather won't be any better than it was this time, but we will just hope for the best!
We LOVED our category 8A room and we booked the same room for next time! That was another factor that went into picking a date - with only 12 of those rooms on the ship, not very many cruises had it available.
So, in about 11 months we shall set sail again!
Until then....
We have our very first Disneyland trip coming up in just 2 Months!! So excited for that!
And then our annual end of summer WDW trip coming up in late August!
Thanks for following along, hope you enjoyed!
