Brent and Liz's: "Cinderella and Aurora said grab your cameras and follow us!" Trip Report Aug 17-26, 2012 - COMPLETE 10/20 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Brent and Liz's: "Cinderella and Aurora said grab your cameras and follow us!" Trip Report Aug 17-26, 2012 - COMPLETE 10/20
Well here we go again! Brent and Liz are off to Disney World to see Brent`s beloved Cinderella and Liz to see Tinkerbell. Many of you know us from our many previous adventures, but for our new followers (and we're ever so glad to have you on board!) a bit of background is in order. Also, if you want to read our pre trip report for more background, it can be found here:
I am Brent, devoted husband, father, all around spectacular human being, and probably the most devoted, enthusiastic Cinderella aficionado you will ever find. I usually spend most of the trip trying to figure out how to see Cinderella again. Luckily Liz is almost always willing to oblige this simple man his simple pleasure so once again this trip is chock full of Cinderella encounters. Here is a little teaser:
Liz is my wonderful wife, and a big Tinker Bell fan. I will leave it to her To go into more detail on her and Tink as she usually chimes in on my Trip Reports with her views opinions and side of the story. We have lots of kids between us, but they are all either teenagers who don't care for Disney so much , or grown up and left, so once again Liz and I came sans kids. I have a feeling the kids are feeling the Disney love once again though so this may be our last trip without kids in tow for awhile, so we're more glad than ever you good folks are here to enjoy it with us.
So I took half a day from work, came home and we packed up the trusty mini van and headed to Detroit Metro airport where we parked in economy parking ($8/day, can't beat that!) , got shuttled to the Delta terminal, checked our bags for free (Thank you very much, Sky miles American Express!), breezed through security, (well, at least Liz did. I had a bit of an adventure but we don't need to get into that right now). Then we waited for our plane, boarded first (thanks again sky miles American Express!). and away we went, just a little bit behind schedule. headed over to Alamo and, learning our lesson from previous trips, picked out a BLACK Camry. I learned before that the lots are FULL of white cars, so we chose a black one. The logic was sound, or so I thought. . We then happily drove to our Happy place and got a room on the backside of the 80"s section, on the for court side. We were hungry so we had dinner in the food court, Chicken Parmesan for me, and then strolled back to our room, unpacked, and got a good night's sleep to get ready for:
Saturday Aug 18, Breakfast at Akershus, then dinner at Chef Mickey's!
I arose early to get my coffee then walk around the grounds. Got back to the room, woke Liz up, we got ready
and hopped in the Black Camry and headed to Epcot and hopefully my first meeting with my beloved Cinderella. . We arrived at Epcot a bit before 8 and headed through future world back to Akershus, where we registered an were quickly put in line to see Belle and get the picture with her. She appeared to remember us and welcomed us back quite warmly.
I showed our server my tattoo and she really liked it. Here's a picture of it:
First up was Aurora. I am certain this Aurora remembered us from previous visits because she looked very familiar and greeted me with a big hug and said 'Welcome back!'.
Next up was my beloved Cinderella. She loved my tattoo. 'Oh my goodness! Wait til I tell Prince Charming about that, he'll probably want one!'. I replied that maybe we should just not tell Charming and have this be or little secret. She smiled and said, 'Now I guess you really can take me anywhere.', which is what is on the back of my airbrushed Cinderella sweatshirt Liz had made for me for a January trip awhile ago, remember?
Could it be she remembered it?
. Ariel and Snow white soon followed, so Liz got her first meeting with Snow White. :-)
All in all a good breakfast and a good first meeting with the Princesses. We then headed to Soarin, got fastpasses then rode the land boat ride, then cashed in our Soar in fast passes. Liz rode the land again and I walked over and rode Mission Space. We walked around a bit then made our way out as it started looking like rain. Sure enough as soon as we got in our black Camry the heavens opened up and it downpoured. We decided to go t Walmart for a few things (OK, I'll come clean here, it was a beer run). Got back to Pop and shared a sandwich for lunch, then actually got a nap in while it was still raining. Now it was on to Chef Mickey's for dinner. We were seated right away and had a great waitress. I'll let the pictures do the talking here, but it's worth pointing out that Donald was appalled at my Cinderella shirt and tries to steal Liz away from me. He kissed her hand and everything. .
After dinner it stopped raining so we walked over to the Magic Kingdom and got far passes to see the princesses, then rode the train to the new fantasyland circus. The first thin that we saw was the water play area. I swear some kids are going to get hurt there. We made our way back to Town Square and saw the Princesses for the first time. First up was my beloved Cinderella!
She was impressed by my shirt and my tattoo, She held my necklace for a closer look, and she thumbed through my photo book for quite awhile, then she got down on her knees to get a closer look. She spent a lot of time with us and I think she was very impressed. Was very happy I even got her pumpkins in there too.
Then we saw Belle. She wanted to be on my other leg.
Then we got to Rapunzel, or so we thought. She was very playful and had gotten back in line with the other guests! She said, she got bored and saw all the commotion going on around her friend Cinderella, she figured she better get in line to see her too! Rapunzel was great.
All in all a great fist meet with the princesses. Then it was on to see Tink. Rosetta was there and she looooved my tattoo. She was asking me all kinds of questions about it and posed for pictures with me.
Tink loved Liz's tattoo as you can see:
Then we walked back to the car which was still at the Contemporary, and headed back to Pop.
Next: MK again, and dinner at 1900 Park Faire, and many more incredibly magical moments. Stay tuned!
Another little teaser, anyone remember a certain Jealous Princess Aurora? I wonder if we'll meet her this trip???

Great start, seems Cinderella is impressed with your new tat...
And Tink and Liz appear to be lost in conversation about hers as well. Waiting patiently for more...
