(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)
This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.
I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.
I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

I think this is going to be a really good day!
The magic is that feeling when dreams come true.
The magic is real, and its spark lives in you!
The Imagineers.
I woke up this morning with the vague feeling that THIS is going to be a really good day.
I'm in the final stages of decision-making for the first printing of my book about the POW. It is just a small self-published project, so don't think it is any great shakes on my part EXCEPT that this man's unbelievable story is going to be told. His story is what is impressive.
BUT, there is something more to it.
I turned to the back of my Disney book to find a quote. I am at the end of my book project, and I wondered if the Disney book might have a quote about finishing something at the end.
I found a quote about a spark!
Finding a quote about a spark was synchronistic because I was just thanking my co-author for reigniting this spark of creative fire that seems to have been flickering on-then off-then on with every little breeze for quite some time.
The book itself is about the creative spark that POWS in Stalag Luft III kept alive when they knew they had no power to escape. This story happened right after The_Great_Escape , a stunt that REALLY annoyed the Germans. As far as future escape attempts went, Hitler would have NONE of it!
So, basically, these guys had to wait until the war was over to be free. But instead of doing nothing, the men in this story kept their "spark" alive with all sorts of activities.
Waiting for this project to be finished was a challenge. Sometimes I had to ask myself if it would ever be finished at all! But the release from this unfinished job is coming soon! And somehow, as this moves into the space of "Finished" in my mind, all sorts of room is being created for new dreams, plans, and goals.
What a burden it is to have something that seems as if I will never finish hanging over my head! There have been quite a few such things over the past few years, all going noplace in spite of my efforts, all weighing me down. It is very much like being in prison.
Like being a prisoner.
And, let me tell you, WHAT A RELEASE to believe that it can soon be finished!
Well, when I woke up this morning, I could almost reach out and touch the spark. It holds all the colors of hope, freedom, influence, choice, safety, confidence, courage, strength, assertiveness, effectiveness...the words could go on forever.
If I hadn't sat down to write a blog entry using a quote as a prompt, though, I think the thought that would have sufficed would have been "I think this is going to be a REALLY good day."
And, when you get down to it, that is really all I need to know about it, so I think this is going to be a REALLY good day.
Quote from p. 190 Walt Disney Imagineering, A Behind the Dreams Look at Making the Magic Real, by The Imagineers, Hyperion, NY. 1996.
