(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)
This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.
I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.
I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

Sometimes you just have to complain.
"What do you mean we can't get rid of those weeds in time? Then go over there and put some fancy signs with latin names in front of them."
Walt Disney
What a great time to be focusing on that particular quote. Today's work on my Ecotour project is not going well.
For some reason, the site is refusing to download the photos, saying they are too large. I found the most well described directions, written by Lizardcop in The Garage, but after a few hours of tinkering, I am still not able to get the photos to post properly.
It seems that life is handing me what I routinely hand to others...problem based learning. That kind of learning that takes repetition, failure, repetition, more failure, trial and error, failure, following directions step-by-step and still failing.
I love to say how failing is just a step closer to getting it right. Struggle through it. Tough it out.
If one person is able to do it, that means it can be done.
If one person understood the directions, that means what needs to be explained has been explained.
It's a wonder I don't get hit all the time when I teach. HOW ANNOYING!
If I followed Walt's quote above, I'd put a positive spin on this and say how I am growing gray matter. If I followed Walt's quote above, I'd be blogging about the joys of struggling through something new or something along those lines.
Well, guess what. Right now I am behind schedule on my trip report, I've spent hours and only managed to download a few photos, and if I was two years old, I'd be having a tantrum right now.
So, I have weeds and I'm ready to take a flamethrower to them. No cute story about fancy signs with latin names here.
Hmmmmph!

Is this the right place to complain???
My wife is unhappy that I have planned a
trip to WDW next year. I am unhappy that
I am just a security guard that makes little
money. I just need a few thousand extra,
but second jobs are hard to find. I have
debts I can't pay. I have been to theraphy.
After years I came to the realization that
I hate my therapist!!! Maybe I should just
give up!!!0 Pixie Dust

No, Scott, you can't give up! Maybe you just need to adjust some of your thinking.
For starters, some of my favorite people are security guards. I've been bailed out on so many occasions by security!
I can't give you advice on your Disney trip except to say that, in this economy, there are plenty of people postponing trips. I've been seeing more and more threads about that.
But, this is the place for complaining, not for trying to see the bright side, so let me get to complaining with you!
My business has been so slammed by the economy, that I can hardly figure out what to do, so I can really get where you are coming from.
Like I said...sometimes you just have to complain!0 Pixie Dust

You crack me up, but you make a very good point! It seems as if being told not to complain makes us complain more, but if we are just allowed to get it out of our system, we feel better.

Kind of like a burp. You have to let it out, or it will be MUCH worse when it finally finds the other way out.
OK, I suppose that was uncalled for. Does that violate a guideline?0 Pixie Dust
