Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)

This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.

I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.

I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

Doing the legwork to meet your goal (or should we say, the WHEELwork?)

I think this blog project takes such an interesting twist when watching the goals of members who have actually chosen a project that relates to Walt Disney World or Disneyland. Todd has chosen to create a website with information about wheelchairtravel , and a large part of his site deals with Disney.

In order to get what he needs, though, Todd has to approach cast members and ask them for something. Either he has to ask for information for his website or for permission to photograph rooms.

I think that takes guts! Alot of people would never be able to do that.

So, today's blog is all about Kudos to Todd. You are doing an AWESOME job and we are all real proud!

Here are Todd's latest updates, by the way.

Todd posted:

Ok Ok I'm back from WDW and I got the monorail line resort's accessible rooms photo in my camera. They will be up on the site sometimes this week. I did it all on Last Sunday and Friday when it was too wet to go to KSC that day. It was the last day to be out around in FL I got the poly last Sunday, while I was at MK with Jeff and family, about 1:00 I went over to the poly to take quick pictures of their rooms "yes they showed me two different types of Accessible rooms" then after that I jumped back to the MK to continue hanging out with Jeff and his family. On Friday I took the SOG bus over to the TTC and got on the monorail and went to each resort and got the pictures. The Contemporary were booked but they had pictures in which they were grateful to gave me copies of the room photos. Also they did email me some photos too. . It was fun seeing the rooms to bad I really couldn't really do the Contemporary with my own camera that would of been fun seeing the future of a room lol. I wanted to do FWL but it was too wet to really go on the boats. In Three year unless someone here like to help me out, I will finish the rest of WDW. I say it was a knock out of a trip with doing business and fun.

Ok I will try this again, I did all three monorail line resorts while at WDW. I did the Poly On Sunday the 29th when I had a set up with them at 2 so I had to leave Jeff and gang for an hour or so to do that and then we back to the MK to join them again. Then on Friday the 4 since it rain that day I was able to take the SOG bus over to the TTC and take the monorail over to the Grand Floridian and then to the Contemporary there they were booked up but they gave me some copies of pictures of their accessible rooms that they had on file and also e-mail me some. They were very willing to help out. A friend and Co-work went to Vegas was able to do a resort there as well but most of Vegas other resorts wouldn't let her in to do any pictures. I'm not surprise with Vegas. But if they ever see that one resort and wonder why the others were not included and start contacting me I will tell them you didn't let one of us in.

I'm in the progress of making the WDW pages on my site. Then I will do the one Vegas resort. I for got to get the file from the class that she had for me I'll get it tomorrow. The so much going on at one time lol

Way to go Todd! Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the pictures you have gotten so far. So glad (and jealous) that you got to hang out with Jeff and the gang while you were there!

Yes it is over whelming at time but I say my prayers and count my blessing. Also I think of Walt Disney had done to get a theme park build and operated and get TV shows and movies out all at the same time. But my first love are the children I help teach they come first as my job then my web site. That part of the reason why things are slow. I also what to be coming out of my heart and not to lose the purpose of what this site is for.

To get it so People who uses a wheelchair will know what out there and how they can travel at ease with out looking all over the net for their information. I like to bring it to them if I can.
