(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)
This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.
I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.
I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

Editing goals with rose colored glasses.
Posted 11-28-2009 at 12:29 PM by Sandra Bostwick
Today I finished my first -Ecotour trip report JUST ENOUGH that I felt I could move it to the finished list.
WOW! It was an amazing feeling!
I also did something that took alot of courage. I put "finish editing the POW" book down on my goals list. We have some orders from people who want to use it for a Christmas gift, so it is time to get moving.
This is a goal that has been literally years in the making, for one reason or another.
I just picked up a disc of a near-final draft and I'll be reviewing it now. I have to really work in spite of all sorts of fears. I don't even want to name the fears because, first, it would take too much time and, second, it gives power to them.
Today, all I am going to do is sit down with a cup of coffee and this manuscript that will be done printing in five pages.
When you edit, you are supposed to look at a document for what is wrong, what could be done better, what needs to be added, waht needs to be taken out.
Well, I've done that SO many times and, I have to say, I rarely enjoy it.
Today I think I will read through it to see what is good.
So often, when it comes to my goals, I see them through a veil of criticism and judgment. Today I'm going to dedicate the day to seeing my goals through rose colored glasses.
Do you have a pair of rose colored glasses for looking at your goals? Can you spend a day wearing them?

Maybe I am sick but I love editing. Looking at what is right may just end up showing you all taht is wrong in a different way. As you read along following the flow those areas that don't flow as well. I let anger impede my goals today which leads me to more anger (being angry for being angry always seems so twisted). Sometimes I begin to wonder if I am merely seeking validation. Is it that things are messed up that I am angry or is it because I looking for someone to say that I am doing great?0 Pixie Dust

Great comment! I'm so sorry that you had an angry day, but sometimes we all need to have one. Remember my thoughts on anger or bad feelings in general? They are like gas. You have to get it out early. It won't be pretty, but if you wait for it to run its course, it is going to be alot worse at the other end.
OK, it may not be a Hallmark moment, but I stand by it.
By the way, I got some coffee, printed up a hard copy of the book draft, relaxed with my rose colored glasses and looked at the big picture with my book.
WOW! My co-author is a master. I can't wait for the book to be out.0 Pixie Dust
