Howdy
:Welcome: to my Passport blog, my 'happy' place!
I have a few blogs on the go at the moment: somewhere I vent for our childrens special needs and the day to day fight that it consists of ; my photography blog, where I like to post daily photos of things I've seen or done ;and then there is my classroom journal where I write every two to three weeks about my studies and progress while volunteering at our local village infant school (I hope to eventually become a teacher) .
This blog however, is my happy place where I like to check forums, read bits and pieces and generally smile and feel warm inside whilst typing on my blog or in reply to others
So far my blogging has been intermittent with everything thats going on in my life but please feel free to give me a nudge if I've neglected you, my reader, for far too long. It's okay, I won't hold it against you if you do promise!
Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome back me
What can I say other than its been a looooong time
I can tell you a little of the last years and a halfs events, namely going through the various tests, observations etc incl Psychology report, for our son who was finally diagnosed with High Functioning Autism, suspected Attention Deficit and Sensory issues the week before Christmas 2010.
A couple of weeks back we managed to get the final agreement that he also has ADHD although mainly attention deficit but they rather note it as ADHD than ADD. He was also given the ADOS and a full Speech & Language test.
We are also currently waiting on a Cardiac review appointment just to be safe and rule out any heart conditions following a few callapses with his sensory issues that are, the paed said, a little extreme from what shes dealt with before but should be fine.
So, the sensory issues are mainly auditory, with the hate of various loud noises or certain sounds - such as the school hall during concerts, lunch etc. and fairly bad temperature problems - lack of ability to fully regulate how he reacts/responds to temperature change. Then he has the touching and constant tiredness, so wants carrying, the lack of ability to fully know when he needs to wee etc.
Now, just before the school broke up for holidays (they went back on Tuesday just gone!), we decided to apply and push for the Education Statement - still pending but following various issues was eventually approved for assesment so fingers crossed, but a battle still ahead on that for maximum hours.
You can see.. life has been a little hectic, stressful, none stop, rollercoaster of a yr or two and following no holiday this year, have decided to go all out, berty blow out and whack up the debt with a fun loving WDW holiday
You just can't beat it
