(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)
This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.
I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.
I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

20 days to GOal: The door behind the curtain: Hidden places, potentials and possibilities

There are hidden places, potentials, and possibilities that are simply not in sight.
It's a big risk to step from one place into another, but sometimes it is the next right thing to do for the situation.
You just can't know what you'll find behind a door that has never been opened.
Will you open the door a crack and take a peek?
Will you decide to stay where you are and never even look?
Will you listen at the door with a glass?
Will you open and stand there for a while?
Will you step right through and close it behind you?
What mysterious doors have appeared for you? Can you spend just one day contemplating what you will do in regards to your choices with those doors?
That is my focus for the day and THIS is my blog entry!

This describes my decision to return to school almost perfectly. It also describes my decision to begin dating Ramoan.
I started college right out of high school and went for two years to Baylor University. Then I left Baylor and went home to take classes at the community college (backwards I know) and I ended up leaving there mid-semester so I could move up north and get married. While I did get a beautiful, wonderful daughter from that decision, I always harbored a regret that I didn't finish school. Then when I got terribly sick and almost died, I decided to return to school only to end up leaving again when I became ill again. Then my husband left and I was left alone with my daughter. Thankfully, my parents were there to help me, but it was still hard. A year ago, I made the decision to go back to school again and not stop until I had the diploma. This decision has often caused me stress and worry in the past year and I am sure it will continue to do so in the upcoming two years.
As for my boyfriend.... He was my friend. He was one of my best friends. When the man-child (I went nuts and started dating a 21 y.o.) decided that he didn't like the idea of me putting my daughter first ahead of him, then Ramoan was there. He was a friend and only a friend. Or so I thought. He harbored some very strong feelings for me, but I was oblivious. Since we worked at the same school, EVERYONE at work (including my mother) saw how he felt about me, but I had no clue. One night the two of us were over at my BFF's house with a group of our friends for a game night and we all got a little drunk. (Truth or Dare is NOT a good game to play if you are really drunk. LOL) He ended up confessing his feelings for me and telling me that he was in love with me, but he would wait until I was ready. All he asked of me was to continue being his best friend. I didn't want to lose my friend so I resisted allowing us to become anything more than friends. One night I invited him to go out with me and another friend. By the end of the night we had kissed and I had decided to step through that door and see where the trail led. So far, it has led to something wonderful, with a bit of stress and confusion, but we work through that together.0 Pixie Dust

What a great idea to consider, hidden doors..... The biggest hidden door opened for me two weeks ago when I received a phone call that sent me right into a whirlwind of excitement!! I was accepted into a grad-program for OT!!! Thinking back to a year ago, it felt as if a HUGE hidden door was actually slammed shut on me, and OUCH, did that hurt… But now, I can’t wait to literally jump through the next set of doors that I now have waiting for me in my future!!0 Pixie Dust

I've had a really rotten door open at the moment and that's unfortunately all I can think about right now. Perry's developed tardive dykenesia, a facial tic. He's blinking all the time so I'm not terribly happy right now. I will try to concentrate on the other doors, school starting in the fall, his atty. going to battle etc but sometimes it's really hard to get by those evil trapdoors that open in life and sending you hurtling. His dr. is working on his meds, btw. We'll see...I'm going for retail therapy to Sephora today.0 Pixie Dust

I'm so glad you have the doctor adjusting the meds right away. I've seen that side effect, and it can be scary and disheartening, but don't give up hope! There are plenty of medication choices that could work without the tics.
Please keep us posted!
You are right, that is NOT a happy door!0 Pixie Dust
