(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)
This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.
I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.
I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

33 Days to GOal: Be aware of the background influence as you plan your dream day.
Good Morning!
Please take a moment to put on some nice music or to do the five minute candle meditation on yesterday's entry before you read this. Try to think of a few things that you are thankful for, then read on.
I'm blogging first thing in the morning on purpose today. I_discussed_in_this_entry how my mindset and tone vary from morning to evening. I also touch upon how music or any background entertainment changes the tone, even if I am not aware.
When I look back over this year's blog entries, I can tell which ones were completed in the morning and which were competed at night most of the time.
I can also get a feel for what I was doing just before or during my blogging time. For example, I tend to listen to the news online, clicking on stories that interest me while I work on other things that don't demand full attention. I hate to admit it, but sometimes I would multi-task while I was writing my blog.
To relate this to Disney, and I don't think this is a stretch, I think about the mornings as I walk into the parks from the Transportation Center or parking lot. A wave of sight and sound bombard me each time and I fall into a theme and a feeling. Something similar occurs in the evening as I am (always!) one of the last to leave the parks. I'm aware of a shift as I move further away from the sights and sounds of the theme park and into the real world, even if that is just to ride to my themed resort. The themes do create certain emotions in me. Sometimes I wonder if the magic withdrawal does not contribute to the crankiness in some people while waiting for transporation, but that is a whole other topic.
Life, and blogging as a metaphor for life, have worked in a similar way for me.
There were several entries here that were very Chicken Little-ish. This was because I was listening to clips about the economy and the situation in New Jersey Schools at the time. This_blog_entry and this_blog_entry_both start spinning in a direction that may be important, but is not necessarily empowering or motivating when going after goals. I was able to link it to the theme with a tangent, but any real evelopment would have been off topic.
Because I set the goal to keep this blog inspiring and goal oriented, I caught myself and tried to spin away from doom and gloom with_this_entry_about_Mickey_Mouse, but it is easy to see how a lack of awareness could have taken the whole project in a negative direction, especially if there were more people posting to get the momentum going. Also, the people who generally read, including those who prefer to keep in touch with me through Facebook, email, or private messages, tend to grab onto the more empowering entries anyway, so I'm sure that is a factor also.
I touched upon how the environment influences the tone of thinking in_this_entry_about_what_inspires_you.
So, in the time we have left, while I am thinking of my goals and trying to draw some conclusions about this blog project, I am going to make sure that I have a postive empowering environment created for all remaining blog entries.
No more news, or even TV in the background as I write. I'm going to take some time to put myself into a positive mindset before I even choose the title.
We have about a month left of our long-term blog project. Can you try to make sure that you are aware of the sights, sounds, even smells in your environment before you read the blog? Do you want to feel strong and inspired (like the theme song from Rocky) or calm and peaceful? Can you try to make sure that you are comfortable? Take off your shoes to give your tootsies a short break if that helps.
I'm planning to kick in these final days with as much power as I can punch into my computer to focus and accomplish great things.
If you work with me, I promise you will be further along in your progress towards your life goals and dreams OR I'll refund all your effort!
And that is my blog entry for today!

Today my 4 yr old daughter Alice asked me... "how come you are a Cleaning lady and an Artist at the same time.
I like to call this "The Cinderella Cycle". I am a cleaning lady so I can be an artist... if I want to be an artist, I need to be a cleaning lady... and as I clean, I remind myself why I do. So I can be at home with Alice, paint and take her to Disney.
So she is at school now, I come home, open my studio door and declare to the dog "today I am an ARTIST". I make my surroundings smell of Orange (Florida of course) and it brings me back to Main st.
So now I must go be an artist!
But above all... I am a stay at home mom!

Meditation is an interesting concept for me but I never have time. There is always background noise here when the kids are home which has been a source of contention at times but what can I do? I am grateful for every quiet moment I get before they come home. It's raining today and I love to listen to the rain.0 Pixie Dust
