(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)
This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.
I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.
I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

Today's goal: Set a timeline for the last 40 days.
Posted 04-02-2010 at 05:27 PM by Sandra Bostwick
Tomorrow marks 40 days to the end of my blog project. My goal for today is to do the following:
1. Prioritize my goals.
2. Set a 40 day timeline to complete them.
3. Write it on a calendar or some other timekeeping system.
That's it! And that's my blog entry for today.

My goal is to finish the guide training. (Of course I am still waiting for the instructions on how to start the guide training. LOL)
I also have a goal to finish up the training on the online booking system for the travel agency. I keep falling asleep when I go to watch the training.
And my last goal is one I can accomplish tomorrow. I need to clean my room.0 Pixie Dust

I am not going to get any farther with my den project, not right now anyway. I am, however, very busy. One ofmy jobs has a huge project due by the end of April.
In May my parents will celebrate 50 years of marriage and we are all going on a cruise to celebrate. We will have a reception for them also in May. I am in charge of the arrangements for all of this.
I am disappointed we didn't get very far with the den, but as I've said before, the den will be here when everything slows down a bit to be home long enough to finish it.0 Pixie Dust

Feel free to copy and paste this into a blog entry.
When we went to Branson at Thanksgiving, we picked out a quilt that we both liked to replace our old comforter. It is a sage green color and although it is a solid color, it has a nice design quilted into it with lots of stitching, and a border around the portion of the quilt that lays on the top of the bed, with some accent embroidery in a couple of different colored threads (cream and light orange). So it adds just a little touch. Its light color looks good against the dark cherry finish of the bed frame. I am on the lookout for some accent pillows to jazz it up just a little bit without going overboard. I am thinking a rusty orange color but some sort of pattern isntead of solid. Haven't found anything I like yet at a price I am willing to spend. Why do small pillows have to be so expensive?
Then in January we went furniture shopping. Picked out a very reasonably priced entertainment armoire and nightstand. Moved the old nightstand that my husband's grandfather made for him when he was growing up into Joshua's room since he did not have a nightstand at all. Moved the old entertainment center into Joshua's room also to use for toy storage. The problem is that the new armoire has much less inside space than the old entertainment center did so I still need to find a new home for quite a lot of things that have been displaced in the swap. Trying to let go of several things that I no longer use but have just kept around.
A related issue is that I still don't have Joshua's room any better organized. I've improved on his storage situation somewhat, but it still needs work. Still too many things sitting on the floor. We work on that a little at a time but it is slow going.
Still left on the bedroom to-do list: Taking down the wallpaper and painting. This may not actually get done for quite some time. The best situation would be to get the foundation fixed first as there are a couple of large cracks around the windows that would only look worse if we took the wallpaper down. Trying to talk Jay into undertaking that expense (foundation repair). Also I think the room would look much better if we got new carpeting. What we have is okay but it does have a few worn spots and small stains. But again, the foundation repair. To get that done right they would need to dig through the foundation in the bedrooms, so why get new carpeting now?
For now I'm happy with the changes we've made. So my focus has shifted to getting everything better organized and trying to get rid of a lot of the clutter.
