(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)
This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.
I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.
I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

Ferris Bueller day on the blog!

I just want to leave you with one thought, that it's just been sort of a dress rehearsal and we're just getting started. So if any of you start resting on your laurels, I mean just forget it, because: we are just getting started.
Walt Disney
I really like this kind of thinking, and I think it really does relate to setting goals and going after them.
To be honest, though, right now my mind is on the upcoming Easter Vacation. I'm not going away for Easter vacation, but I'll have some extra time at home. I'll still have college and my private clients, but my grade school is off, and that is something to look forward to!
My mind is also on the fact that, in less than 30 days, I'll be flying to Florida for a conference and then GOING TO DISNEY!
So, basically, tonight, I am distracted. While I like this quote about not resting on laurels, I have to say that, every once in a while, it is good to take a break on your laurels.
The fact is, sometimes there is a benefit to embracing a vacation. And sometimes there is a benefit to looking forward to a special trip.
SOOOOOOOOOO, today I am disagreeing with Walt and saying that, at least for tonight, I'm resting on my comfy laurels!
Once I sign off from this blog, I am officially taking a break from all things goal oriented for the rest of the night.
Just a full night of great TV, a comfy couch, and the knowledge that I don't have to wake up at any special time tomorrow.
I feel like Ferris Bueller, and I am taking a day (or night) off!
And that is my blog for tonight.

That scene in Ferris Bueller STILL makes me gasp. I'm not the "back the car into the canyon" type, though. I think I'm more the "put it into gear and fly face front into the canyon" type, AKA final scene in Thelma and Louise.0 Pixie Dust

Singing in a parade actually used to be my style. I've mellowed quite a bit since then, and I doubt I would ever do something like that these days.
I'm not sure, WHAT I'd do, Todd. I'm kind-of evolving. I think now I'm the type of person who starts a crazy long-term blog project to go after goals and dreams and hopes that people will join her so she isn't alone.
