(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)
This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.
I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.
I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

The lighter side of goals and dreams.
All we ever intended for him or expected of him was that he should continue to make people everywhere chuckle with him and at him. We didn't burden him with any social symbolism, we made him no mouthpiece for frustrations or harsh satire. Mickey was simply a little personality assigned to the purposes of laughter.
Walt Disney
The lighter side of goals and dreams really does need to remain somewhere in awareness, especially when times are tough.
Just look at this clip:
http://www.totlol.com/watch/R8FzGOOQ...nd-Goofy%29/0/
(Please don't take offense and think I'm making light of the very real issues that so many people have.)
I love that Mickey, even to this day, is the antidote for many people who feel like they are being worn down by the Chicken Littles.
The last few days of blog posts were honest, I suppose, and they definitely responded to some very real issues. I also hope I was able to validate some of the much appreciated PMs that said, in different ways, that optimism was not a realistic place for the moment.
But, today I tried to redirect back to the part of the topic that I might have been straying from...what would Walt post if he were the author of this blog?
Well, I can't even take a guess on that, BUT I think I can pretty much guess the tone that MICKEY would have if he were posting.
And I think the quote and the link above tell it all.
I LOVE that Mickey is a steadfastly lighthearted personality.
I have plans to visit Disney in May and, whenever I think of it, I get a little lighthearted spot in my spirit because I know what will be there....the place that was all started with The Mouse.
I wonder if this clip was not responding to some of the economic issues from 1936, which is when Walt created it. And, just maybe, this is exactly how Walt would respond to people who are burdened by the troubles of today!
Either way, I hope this gave you a little chuckle!

Well, regardless of what was going on in my life at the time I've been able to hold on to my sense of humor. It's actually kept me sane at times. I guess I have the twisted practicality of being able to see humor in most things from one angle or another. Some days it's harder than others.0 Pixie Dust
