(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)
This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.
I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.
I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

Goals in these times
It's no secret that we were sticking just about every nickel we had on the chance that people would really be interested in something totally new and unique in the field of entertainment.
Walt Disney
Walt Disney decided to put all his nickels into something totally new and unique in the field of entertainment.
What a goal! Something new and unique is the hallmark of the entrepreneur.
The entrepreneur takes those risks that are just too dicey for the person who prefers a traditional situation.
But now, for so many, even traditional situations are like shifting sand. Tenure, contracts, and the retiring after so many years with a nice pension and a gold watch used to be a platform on which to build a way of life. And some people put all their nickels on that.
It seems as if, these days, everyone is something of an entrepreneur because very few things are predictable and safe.
I've pretty much lived the existence of a self-employed entrepreneur for years. I think my rewards were more in doing the jobs I love and helping people in the way I felt kept me true to my own beliefs. In other words, my company is no where near a Fortune 500 Company, but my heart and soul have been rich.
I've always loved risk, unpredictability, and challenge BUT lately, as I try to prioritize my personal and business goals, the shifting sand under my feet is leaving me a little bit unsettled.
I see that many of my goals have to be tentative. I see that things are just not as simple as they've been in the past. I see that there is concern all over the place.
But I also know that I'm going to spend my nickels keeping on top of my situation, picking up and moving on if I fall, and adjusting my goals as needed.
I know that this is not my usual blog tone, BUT that's what happens when you decide to blog every day AND you decide to be as honest as you can.
AND, there's today's blog topic!
