(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)
This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.
I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.
I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

It feels like a Florida vacation here.
"Here in Florida, we have something special we never enjoyed at Disneyland...the blessing of size. There's enough land here to hold all the ideas and plans we can possibly imagine."
Walt Disney
I don't know about you, but for me, this winter had me driving my dreams like I was learning to drive a stick shift with the parking break on. Start, stop, hop, screech, lurch, bang my head on the dash, grind the gears.
Spring is still a few weeks away still, but it seems to have come early here in Jersey. When Spring comes, everything seems just a little bit easier for me.
Even going to work out was easier without the coat. I didn't have to scrape the ice off the windshield and there was no shivering while I waited for the heat to warm the car.
I didn't have to brace myself for the cold when I walked out of the gym, either.
It reminds me of the way I feel when I visit Florida for a break from the cold. I know that Walt's quote was referring to the size of the land for Walt Disney World as opposed to the size of Disneyland, but if I could change that quote to suit me, I'd say this:
"Here is Florida, we have something special we never enjoyed in Jersey...the blessing of a warm sunny day in the dead of winter." That's one of the reasons I love to visit so much.
The break from the coats, scarves, mittens, snow shovels and heavy shoes is like a breath of fresh air that makes driving through the rest of winter easier.
Well, I didn't get to FLorida this winter, but the amazing weather of the past few days has me feeling the way I do when I first step out of Orlando Airport and turn my face up to the sun.
I hope you are enjoying nice weather where you are!
And that's today's blog!

I am not a regular to Sandy's blog, but I do read it off and on. When I read about the Florida Vacation I had to post and tell about my very soon upcoming vacation. Many moons ago I met Sandy and several others virtually through another website.
The group of us became very close. We were united for one cause that varied for each individual there. Through thick or thin we were there for each other, and for the most part all of us knew each other only virtually through the website. We were spread from Jersey to California and Wisconsin to Florida and many points in between ~ but we were close knit ~ almost family like.
Well our vacation starts Thursday and I am so excited that as we travel to Florida I will have the opportunity to meet three of the people whom I have only in the past "typed a conversation with". I may be looking forward to meeting these three people as much as I am the vacation. Probably not but it will be exciting.
We always talked online of having a weekend when all of us could be there and we could just sit around the table and converse, truth is - doubtful this will happen.
The people in that group all had one goal - similar but different. All twenty or so of us being from different geographical areas of the US and yes two from across the pond, came together thanks to an online community. A community where each of us could be brutally honest with ourselves and each other because we were talking to a "total stranger" not a friend or relative.
Now ~ today ~ I am closer to some of these folks than family or friends and when I see them it will not be a total stranger. The first thing I do will be blink back a tear or more and then, with my wife and their spouse present, there will be a huge bear hug. And yes I qualify as a huge bear.
This is all thanks to somebody who started a community online and we all found. The person who started that was hoping to bring people together to share, she had no idea how close we could become. Now this area is a blog and many don't share (read - spill their guts) like we did on the other board, but once you get past the beans spilling and know even a little about each other . . . oh how you become close and learn to care for the person inside and care less for the external portion of the person.
So what ever happens keep your dreams alive, find somebody to talk to, share a problem with somebody, and in the process you will share both the purdons of the world ~ and there will soon seem lighter ~ and the joys of the world and this my friends will keep you grounded.
Live life, dream dreams, look forward to spring, enjoy the winter, share with somebody and stay online.0 Pixie Dust
