(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)
This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.
I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.
I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

Guest blog from Mandy
Today I'm reposting a great comment for a guest blog:
Really, sports teach us about life. While performance and success may seem like the most important thing, your character says more about you than anything. I think this is a fantastic post, Sandy, because I believe this is absolutely true.
Sharing a bit of my own personal experience if that is alright, I just recently finished my senior year basketball season. Now I had hoped that I would have a fantasitc year, having high stats and hopefully making the all-area team. However, when a team is not compatable, or even kind to one another, it is really hard for one individual to succeed, let alone the team. Well let me just say, the season did not end the way I would have liked it to. No matter what happened throughout the season, no matter how bad things were, I always remained above the situation and was positive. As a captain, it is most important to lead by example. Just today, my coach surprised me with a Sportsmanship award to be recognized throughout the conference. I am honored, and proud to see that others recognized that no matter how bad things were, I focused most on my pride and my character.
I think Evan Lysacek did a phenomenal job the other night and I was upset to see people trying to knock him down. The Olympics are about uniting as a whole, not about one-upping the next guy because you landed a quad and it was not in his program. I admire all the Olympic athletes who keep their heads high no matter what happens because that is the mark of a true champion.

(Here's me again)
I asked Mandy's permission last night to post this comment as a guest blog, but what is amazing is that, today, I found myself really thinking about my character.
What do I spend my time thinking about, what are my priorities when faced with a challenge or a difficulty?
Who have I become, and is that the person I want to be.
I know the theme of this blog is goals and dreams, and, since much of what I "become" evolves through the pursuit of my goals and dreams, I think it isn't too much of a stretch to make it fit.
Thanks, Mandy, for giving me something to think about.
