I guess things are getting better.
We closed on the new house. It is gorgeous. Pretty big with a great kitchen and lots of storage. A garage and fenced in yard. We haven't had a garage in over 4 years. And the dog loves the backyard. We haven't moved in yet. We just visit daily to bring over a few boxes, install wood blinds, or work on something. We will move in after or WDW vacation.
DS15 "Moose" joined PP. He got jealous of the time I spend on here and was wondering about all the people I talk about. But his football season ended with a bit of controversy. The quaterfinal game we went to Atlanta for was horrible for his team. The officials were poor. the home team were bad sports. And our starters lost their minds. The refs couldn't agree on ball placement (kept giving the home/opposing team an additional 1 to 3 yards on every offensive run), kept their ball dry, (not ours, as it was a cold rainy night in GA), and don't know the definition of holding/pass interferance/roughing the kicker/ or illegal onsides kick (ball didn't go 10 yards & O-line passed kicker). Did not call personal foul for opposing team spitting on our guys face, but ejected our guy for retalliating on the spitter. Which resulted in a huge brawl. (Moose did not leave the sideline, he knows better. Momma Bear would have his highney! He was taught better). Moose even kept about a dozen buddies on the sideline. Well we lost. The winners & their fans rushed the field and went to visitors bleachers and taunted visiting fans with obsenities. Our team was escorted off the field by our own sheriffs dept for their safety. But it gets better.....
The next day, the winners but the brawl film on Youtube with commentary that we were thugs and our coach can't control the team. And he did nothing for punishment and etc..... Our local news paper sensationalized it and made our kids out to be horrible gangster thugs that seemed worthless. People wrote in that they were ashamed to be associated with the school & county. OMG I can't believe how backwards this place is. Did they not realize these are KIDS! Boys with raging hormones. they had won 12 games this season and were in a state tournament. There was no reason for the spitting, name calling, poor officiating, and the fight that happened. But the fans should have been a little more supportive.
They also lost b/c our teams center that night wore gloves for the very first time. He never even practiced in them. (DS used to play center last year, but when we moved here they already had 5 centers and in the "good'ol boy network, well you just don't take someones job). The center had well over 6 bad snaps. 2 of the bad snaps involved being within touchdown contention and one for a field goal. One would think that after the second bad snap, and one costing a touchdown you would pull him and put someone else in. NOPE, not on this team.
And when you have "little" guys that cannot move the opponents on the offensive line, one would think you would put in some bigger guys that can hold/move the opponents. NOPE, not on this team. Their statement is "we gotta play the kids that have been here longer." OMG! Put in the 6'4" 250# sophmore! Not the 5'7" 190# senior!
Okay. I think you all have heard enough. I think I'll come back as a football player or coach in my next life.
Anyways, We leave for WDW in anywhere from 49 to 53 hours. Yep, not a clue as to when yet. DS has to talk to his drama teacher. He has no final in the class. But the class as a whole was told they have to be in class on Friday unless they are a Junior or Senior. (DS is a sophmore).
He has a Pre-AP English and computer final tomorrow. Pre-AP chem final is Friday. So we could leave at 11'ish if drama teacher says he is excused. If not he has to sit through a movie in English and then do "nothing" in Drama. His drama final was their performance/play on Monday night, it was fabulous. (he does tech crew).
I am not packed much for WDW. Just a shopping bag of snacks and a tub with some stuff like hats, ears, ponchos, fanny pack, cards, and window clings.
I have 7 boxes of house stuff in my living room and DH called from the house asking when I would be there. Hmm 40 minutes ago I said about an hour. I guess I better get a move on it. and I am getting a little hungry. I also need to go to the post office.
