    You Discovered a PassPorter Tip!

General Travel Tip #1874 - Close The Curtains

At level 3, you can mark this tip as a favorite!
This is to add to the tip given in the January 19th edition of the e-mail. The tip was by Joan about using a clothespin to hold hotel curtains together. My tip to expand on that is, if you don't have a clothespin on you and you find that your hotel room's curtains won't fully close, use a bobby pin. Hold the two ends of the curtains next to each other and slide the bobby pin onto them both. Adjust the height position of the bobby pin until the curtains are as closed as you are comfortable with. In the morning when you open your curtains, just slide one curtain out and leave the bobby pin on the other side so when you go to close the curtains again that night, you just need to slide the other side back into the bobby pin. I just got back from a trip where I needed to do this and it was a huge help for privacy's sake. I left the bobby pin on one side of the curtain when I left in case the next person in the room needed it for closing the curtains. Alternatively, you could use a safety pin from a travel sewing kit or a paperclip from your briefcase if you don't have a clothespin or bobby pin.
