    General Travel Tip #24748 - Use Google Street View to Familiarize Yourself with New Cities

    Google Street View is your friend when visiting a new city! Whenever I am going to visit a new area, even for just one night, I will plan my route not only on a map but I will look at in on street view so I feel much more confident and familiar with my surroundings. This, of course, gives the added benefit of being a less obvious target for pickpockets (sadly a reality in many cities) than others who are distracted looking at maps while on the sidewalks trying to get their bearings. Added bonus: Never fails to impress travelling partners!
