    General Travel Tip #23262 - State Line Gifts

    Our family drives 18 hours to get to Walt Disney World from Chicago. To keep our kids (5,7, and 9) happy on the long drive, we give out "State Line Gifts." Throughout the year I collect small gifts and books when I see them on sale or at the dollar store. They can be anything from DVDs to toys to activity books to sunglasses to pool toys! I package them up in cute gift bags, and every time we cross a state line, the kids each get one. This keeps them excited to continue on, and it really stops them from dawdling at rest stops because they can't wait to get to the next state line! This was a true lifesaver.
