General Travel Tip #1789 - Write On Kids!

When traveling with children, most parents are familiar with 'Lost Kid Tags.' These are a great idea, except when they collect dirt, soak up every known liquid to man, become the food magnet or just plain fall off. In our travels to various theme parks and of course, Niagara Falls (both American and Canadian sides), we discovered that a simple Sharpie marker and child's upper arm work the best. We write 'Am I lost? My mom's cell phone number is xxx-xxx-xxxx.' This stays on through swimming, clothes changes, rain storms, food fights (and yes this happened!) and more. One small consideration: Apply sunblock and wait for it to dry completely before you write on the skin as sunblock will remove the ink if applied afterward.
