Walt Disney World Tip #1100 - Pump Pass

My son, Chris, is an insulin dependent diabetic on an insulin pump. The pump cannot be around magnets such as those used on Rock 'N' Roller coaster, so we decided to ask a cast member, Dana, about doing a baby swap with the pump. She not only told us about her experiences living with an implanted medical device, but she took us to the front of the line and waited with us while my husband and I took turns riding with our son and safeguarding the pump. This was especially great for our son, being treated like a special guest. At the airport he had to stand in a clear booth and wait to be wanded and patted down in front of everyone because, again, special precautions for the pump must be taken and he can't walk through the metal detectors like everyone else. So as you can imagine he felt like a rock star with the VIP treatment thanks to Dana and, oddly enough, the baby swap for his pump.
