    You Discovered a PassPorter Tip!

General Travel Tip #2667 - TSA Travel Tips

At level 3, you can mark this tip as a favorite!
If you are traveling with children, it is a good idea to send one adult from your group through airport security/customs first, then all children, followed by the second adult. This is a good idea even for older children and small family groups. That way if your child is selected for additional screening, there is a parent on either end of the security screening. We are a family of three that was traveling to Vancouver from the east coast of the U.S. for a Disney Cruise. We found that our 10 year old son was selected for additional screening every single time we passed through a security checkpoint. The first time this happened, he was the last one to walk through the scanners and he felt a bit apprehensive when he was held back while we were already through. We were allowed to go to the screening area with him, but that bit of anxiety was easily avoided. We had him pass through security between us the remainder of the trip and we all felt more comfortable about the process.
