    You Discovered a PassPorter Tip!

Walt Disney World Tip #1787 - Try New Foods Before You Go

At level 3, you can mark this tip as a favorite!
When you take you children/grandchildren to the Epcot resturants, you may hear them say "that's weird" or "that's gross" before they even try the food/drink. One way to help elevate the strangeness of food from other countries is to try them at home. If you have resturants in your town that have foods from Asia, Morocco, France, etc. have the family visit these resturants prior to your trip. Or if you enjoy cooking try the recipies from other countries at home. This way when they encounter new food you can say "that is just like .... that you liked at ..... restuarant" or "this is what I made at home, remember." This will ease their nervousness and make experimental dinning a better experience for the whole family. My granddaughter is going on this trip and we have made sure that every time we see her we take her to a new ethnic place to eat dinner. She's five and will try almost anything once. She will eat sushi, morroccan foods, and tandoori. I have always told her that she had to try any foods we ask her to eat just once, if she doesn't like she won't have to try it again. Nine times out of ten she has liked it. Planning before means less stress during the trip and you don't have to find somewhere that has chicken nuggets.
