How to Read PassPorter E-Books on Mobile Devices

PassPorter's e-books can be read on your mobile device, including iPhone, iPad, iTouch, and Nook. Below are details on how to view the PassPorter e-books

Store Purchasers: If you purchased your e-book in the PassPorter Store, you can still use the above directions to add your e-books -- if you do not see your purchased e-books listed, be sure to lookup them up here first.

Tip: If you have a problem download any of our e-book files via the Concierge Desk, we recommend returning to the PassPorter Store to locate your order again (sign in and click Order History), and download it from the store instead. This method seems to work better for large files being transferred over slower connections.
    iPhone, iPad, and iTouch
If your iPhone/iPad/iTouch is connected to the Internet, you can simply use Safari to surf to http://www.passporter.com/desk, touch E-Books, then touch the "Download PDF" link below the e-book that interests you. (You will need to login to view your available e-books.) Once the e-book download is complete, an "Open in iBooks" button will appear. Click this and the e-book will be saved in iBooks for you!

    Notes:
    - You need to have version 1.3 or greater of the free iBooks app in order to add your e-books via the web page. If you do not (or cannot) get the latest version, you can still view the e-books in the Safari browser window, or you can add the e-books to your iTunes library, then sync it to your device.
    - If an e-book you download appears without images, you may need to re-save it with a PDF writer, such as Preview (a free app on Macs) or cutePDF (a free-to-use app for PCs), then add it to your iTunes library and sync your device.

You can also use iTunes software on your Mac or PC to transfer the file(s) from your computer to your device during a sync. There are two methods you can use:
    1. Drag the desired file over the open iTunes window, and Drop the file onto the Library (upper left corner of the window)
    2. Select Add to Library... from the iTunes menu bar, select the desired file(s) from the Add To Library window (you can select multiple files), and click Choose.

    Barnes & Noble Nook E-Reader
On your desktop computer, go to http://www.passporter.com/desk, login, click E-Books, then click the "Download PDF" link below the e-book that interests you. Now connect your Nook to your computer via the USB cable. Your Nook will appear on your computer as a new device (like a hard drive). Add your e-book file(s) to the "My Documents" folder in your Nook. Eject your Nook. On your Nook, go to "My Library" then click "View My Documents" and look for the e-book(s) you added.

Note: If an e-book you download appears without images, you may need to re-save it with a PDF writer, such as Preview (a free app on Macs) or cutePDF (a free-to-use app for PCs).

Readers report that book the regular Nook and NookColor can view our e-book PDFs.
    Amazon Kindle
On your desktop computer, go to http://www.passporter.com/desk, login, click E-Books, then click the "Download PDF" link below the e-book that interests you. Now connect your Kindle to your computer via the USB cable. Your Kindle will appear on your computer as a new device (like a hard drive) -- you can simple drag and drop the e-book file(s) onto the Kindle icon on your computer, then safely undock/eject/unmount your Kindle.

Alternatively, you can e-mail an e-book file to your Kindle's email address and it will be recognized when your check your Kindle's mail. To avoid a fee, or if you're not in wireless range, you can send an e-mail to "name"@free.kindle.com and download the files via USB in a Kindle compatible format to the device(s). Add your books to the "My Documents" folder in your Nook. Eject your Nook. On your Nook, go to "My Library" then click "View My Documents" and look for the e-book(s) you added.

For more information on transferring files to Kindle, visit Amazon.com Help: Transferring, Downloading, and Sending Files

Note: Our e-book files are very large, so you may not be able to successfully send them to your Kindle via e-mail, due to limits that may be imposed on attached files by your ISP.

So where do you get our e-books? PassPorter E-Books are available free-of-extra-charges to PassPorter's Club members (membership starts at just $4.95/month) or by direct purchase via our E-Books page and in the PassPorter Store, and are sometimes included with the purchase of a print edition in the PassPorter Store.
